Outcomes

The 60L Green Building was a ground breaking design of its time. The Australian Conservation Foundation’s home represents international standards of Environmentally Sustainable Design and proves triple bottom line solutions are savvy commercially and environmentally.

The 60L Building stands as a frequently cited case study in championing retrofits as a sustainable design success story.  This project involved a retrofit of an existing three storey building, integrating construction of a new four storey concrete structure. The refurbishment maximises natural light and ventilation, through operable windows, light wells, a central atrium, thermal chimneys and computer-controlled louvres. These features also result in occupants feeling both more productive and healthier.
