Outcomes

Marysville Community Centre was developed on a sloping site adjacent to the sports oval and the new Primary School in Marysville, Victoria. The facility encompasses a sports hall with courts for basketball, netball, volleyball and badminton, viewing platforms, club rooms, health clinic, multi-purpose meeting rooms, and amenities.

Positioned to optimise connectivity to the street and school, with views of the oval and lake, the Community Centre was designed to shed embers and debris protecting the façade.

The project formed a central part of the rebuilding of Marysville after the devastating fires in 2009 which destroyed most of the town.

We acknowledge the Taungurung and Wurundjeri people as the traditional owners of the land now called Murrindindi Shire.
