Outcomes

RMIT’s old printing facility has been transformed into the University’s new fashion hub, for the internationally recognised School of Fashion and Textiles. Fashion and Textiles students now have more opportunity to collaborate and showcase their work at RMIT’s new Design Campus in Brunswick.

The new two-level learning centre for undergraduate students includes studios, teaching spaces, machinery rooms, a lecture theatre, student break-out and study spaces and greater access for students with disabilities.

The lecture theatre has been re-designed to encourage collaboration with a more open seating plan and rotating chairs for group work. The existing façade is now an interchangeable display area for students to showcase their work to general public.

This project was delivered as part of RMIT’s mentor program with Spowers guiding emerging practice Phooey Architects throughout development..
