Outcomes

Spowers successfully upgraded Altona's new, cutting-edge fire station without disrupting its 24-hour operations. Collaborating closely with the Melbourne Fire Brigade and station crews, Spowers developed a facility with ecologically sustainable design to meet the needs of both the crews and the local community.

The project, located within a residential street in Melbourne's southwest, posed the challenge of building the new station on the same site as the existing one. To overcome this, a staged construction period was implemented, ensuring ongoing operations and safety. The architect prioritized sustainability, selecting materials with improved environmental values and employing best design practices. Through extensive liaison and consultation, Spowers ensured the project's success while accommodating the needs of the station and its crews.   Spowers also delivered MFB The Burnley Complex, Richmond
